He became a popular name worldwide after his appearances on the show of Oprah Winfrey. He appeared on the show at the beginning of 2004. He also appeared on many other TV programs including Larry King Live.
In 2009, Winfrey’s Harpo Productions and Sony Pictures launched a daily television program known as “Dr. Oz Show”. This program focused on the personal health and medical issues. This program made him a household name.

The British Medical Journal researched over 400 medical or health solutions offered by Oz show in forty episodes during his program.
During the research, the British Medical Journal found that only forty-six percent less than half is supported by science. Fifteen percent of the recommendations contradicted medical science. The remaining thirty-nine percent are not backed by research.
